Systemic & Relational Therapy in Practice: Effective Strategies for Working with Families and Complex Systems
This 3-hour continuing education training provides clinicians with practical, evidence-informed strategies for applying systemic and relational therapy principles in real-world clinical settings. Participants will explore foundational concepts of family systems theory and learn how relational dynamics influence assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic outcomes.
The training examines the impact of external systems—including schools, courts, healthcare providers, child welfare agencies, and extended family networks—on client functioning and treatment decision-making. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of legal and ethical considerations that arise when working with families and interconnected systems of care.
Through case-based discussion and applied clinical examples, participants will develop skills in systemic assessment, insurance-compliant treatment planning, and evidence-informed interventions designed to address complex relational concerns. The course emphasizes practical tools that can be immediately integrated into clinical practice to improve engagement, strengthen therapeutic effectiveness, and support positive outcomes for individuals, couples, and families.
